Gas injection technology is a special injection moulding technique. After injection into the mould, the melt is pushed into the cavity by co-injecting nitrogen, which creates discrete internal hollow sections.

Some benefits of gas-assist injection moulding are:

• High surface quality without sink marks in parts with a wall-thickness of up to 30 mm
• Better hardness due to larger diameters achieved with the same amount of material
• Even shrinkage leads to less warpage
• Less material, lighter weight than massive parts
• Shorter cycle times compared to thick-wall parts
