Multi-component technology

As a certified specialist for multi-component technology, we can offer extensive professional expertise in this area.

Multi-component processing involves the injection of two or more different polymers into the mould with the objective of creating specific part properties – or in order to produce a new technical solution. This production method is applied to achieve the following:

  • Integration of processing sequences to reduce assembly costs
  • Production of specific tactile surface properties
  • Implementation of specific design solutions
  • Reduction of material costs by processing less expensive core materials

Depending on the material combination, different components can form an inseparable, rigid bond or they remain flexible and can still be moved. Some examples:

  • Production of multi-coloured components „in one shot“,
  • Injection moulding of seals onto components,
  • Integration of transparent display windows in containers,
  • Integration of handles with soft surfaces,
  • Integration of non-detachable decorative elements

About one third of our machines are equipped for multi-component processing.
